Google Docs has no "save image" button, so getting pictures out usually means screenshots or saving the whole doc as a web page. Here you get every image in the document at the size it was uploaded, one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Or upload the file
In Google Docs: File > Download > Microsoft Word (.docx). Works for any Word file too.
Uploaded files are read in your browser. Links are fetched from Google by our server and not stored.
How it works
- Share the doc as "Anyone with the link" and paste the link, or download it with File > Download > Microsoft Word (.docx) and upload that file.
- Every image in the document appears, in order.
- Download the ones you want, or all of them as a ZIP.
Questions
How do I download an image from Google Docs without this tool?
Google Docs has no download option on images. The usual workarounds are File > Download > Web page (.html, zipped), which puts the images in a folder, or copying an image into Google Keep and saving it from there.
Do I have to make my doc public?
No. Download it as a Word file (File > Download > Microsoft Word) and upload that instead. The file is read in your browser and never leaves your device.
Are the images full quality?
You get each image as it is stored in the document, which is the size it was uploaded at unless Google Docs compressed it. Cropping done inside the doc is not applied.
